Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west. Isaiah 43:5
Saturday, 20th-
Today we did a whole days worth of touring. We toured the Tianneman Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace. Very interesting, but it was a long day. It was freezing. Good thing we had lots of layers on. I debated on packing a big jacket, just to save room in the suitcase, but, oh man, are we glad we brought one. It was a whole 27 degrees today. Tomorrow is suppose to be about the same with possible snow. We go to the Great Wall tomorrow, so back on with the layers.
Everyone in our travel group is really nice. We are the only ones from Texas. Everyone loves our Texas accent. Termite is keeping the whole group rolling with his sense of humor-(or lack of, I'm not sure which! lol) Surprising! There are eleven families with us. One more family will meet up with us in Guangzhou.
We toured the pearl factory. They showed us how to open the pearls and see how many pearls are inside. Termite bought Tessa a beautiful pearl bracelet. They had some beautiful jewelry, put pretty pricey. Good thing the bracelet was on sale, big time. We also visited the silk factory. That was very interesting. We were kind of disappointed that we didn't get to go to the Bird's Nest Olympic Stadium. We did get to drive by, so it was worth seeing, just wish we could have gone in there.
The food is definitely interesting. Let's just say, thank the Lord we brought peanut butter! We are really tired of Chinese food already. It's very different than what we are used to. Most of it is not recognizable. We are not very brave. Termite has tried more than the kids and I, which is very surprising. I didn't think he would.
Well, two more days till we meet our sweet Toryn. Everyone is getting very excited. Enough of the chinese food, just get us to the real reason that we are here. Don't get me wrong, we are having fun, but I'm getting ready to meet our little peanut.
I am having trouble posting pictures. Sorry! Hopefully, it will work tomorrow. It's the most important day!
Love you all,
